There's a big debate whether Old School Racing META format is better than Vanilla Racing (which is disliked mostly by Russian players). How would you vote? Which one is the best.
Vanilla made players skillful on street maps / offroad maps - but lacks cool map designs, nitros and generally these maps are boring 3-4 minute strolls around the cities or offroads - it's just extending the game too much. No plane, boat maps so players can't show their skill on these vehicles (with some exceptions of course, but the idea of Planes / Boats are mostly hated rn). No training - so you enter the game without knowing how the map looks without further training it, also these map makers nowadays are MTA Racers so you might sometimes see very weird and clunky lines that normally experienced maper wouldn't do)
Old School Racing had way different maps, shorter ones - or sometimes long ones but that was an exception. Maps with beautiful objects designs, nitros, repairs - similar to Alpha Racing but not quite like DM or DD like style. There were plane maps and there was strategy - one team had the best Hydra / Plane players so they picked Plane maps to outmatch their opponents, and also people trained these maps to become better and better. It had mappers that did maps with passion, but sometimes we saw Vanilla maps which were also the majority but they were known and popular. Even there was time when maps with multi-vehicles at one map (on checkpoint change) were played, so it added very big variety to the matches.
Nowadays seeing today racers who are thinking that they're "big pros" just because they know how to drive street / offroad maps, but don't know how to fly & drive alpha maps is kinda meh for me. Definition of a pro is that he's "professional" - he should know how to do things with perfection, not being scared and leaving just because they see "Boat" or "Hydra map" - it just makes them look bad at some points
What do you think?
